Our turn to give back + #PayitForward

#PayitForward

Over Thanksgiving break Will got a $100 gift card from work. He wanted to do something better with it than buy something for himself. I was all for buying a ton of food with the money we had and donating it! This was a chance to #payitforward to the community.

We made this something we were going do to together. So, this past Sunday we took a trip to Giant Eagle. It was kind of decided on the spot to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of North West Pennsylvania .  Felt like an hour was spent at the grocery store trying to decide what to buy. Then, we were going up and down the isles like it was a maze trying to find the things we wanted. We seriously took forever to find the peanut butter before we caved in and asked a worker lol.

We tried our best to get a little of something from every category on their most wanted list. As well as keeping track of how much was left to spend. By the time we got to the check out we still had $15 to spend, even though it felt like we went over!

On Monday morning we went back to Giant Eagle, spent those 15 dollars, and headed off to drop off the food.

and a full heat later, I can’t wait to do something like this again. I am so glad I got to do it with my favorite person.

If you are thinking of giving back but can’t get around to it, I encourage you to take any opportunity to give back to your community. Not just around the holidays, but also year round.
