The Gathering 2.0 recap

Earlier this year you could say I impulsively bought tickets for this event. Like totally bought the tickets THEN asked my parents if they would come with me to drive 6 hours to Virginia. Thank the lord they were all for it. I bought the tickets and never really realized how quickly it would approach. One minute I was doing a countdown, the next it was over.

Driving up to Virginia I was mentally preparing myself. I was about to join 100+ women for this event AND get to hug and meet a whole bunch of them. Not to mention I was about to meet two girls I have admired and looked up to since day 1 of my photography career. I am so thankful for social media because I was able to message a few of them beforehand. Little did I know how much I would feel at home. Admittedly, I was nervous no one would want to talk to me, that I wouldn’t fit in, that I wouldn’t be pretty enough, or even cool enough. But once I stepped in that coffee shop that morning I was greeted with nothing but hugs and open arms. Annie, Erin, Katie, Chloe, Meghan, and Kasey. My new clan, a group of girls I never realized I would miss so much!

After we met up at the coffee shop we went around taking each other’s head shots! (Keep reading to see  MY fav head shots taken of all time!!)

When we arrived to the actual Gathering  I literally was FAN GIRLING! I’m not kidding. My hands were sweaty and everything. I got to hug hope AND Caroline and they actually took the time to talk to each person who walked through those doors. Not going to lie, almost peed my pants and started crying because Caroline Logan knew who I was. I repeat Caroline Logan knew who I was!!!! Like I need nothing more in this life. Don’t worry I am good. Life is complete. Done. But then I got to sit down and listen to them both pour their hearts out to us.

“Believe in yourself others will follow” – The first line I wrote down of 8 pages front and back top to bottom. Never could I have ever prepared myself for all the things that were coming my way. I found myself wanting to sit in that seat forever and never stop listening to their stories. These girls not only talked about the business aspect of this career, but also how important it is to take time for yourself. Really take care of yourself and live a life.

I am so thankful for this experience, and these people. Thank you Hope and Caroline for everything.
